What a Christmas!

Wow! The holiday's were interesting this year. We had plenty of time with family and enjoyed that time but most of them were sick and both of the boys got sick too. It was a really nasty 24 hour stomach virus. I ended up with a migraine on Friday night that lasted through Sunday morning. It caused me to temporarily lose sight in my left eye and made my left arm and hand numb. I'm used to those symptoms now so they don't scare me as much as they used to. We spent the 23rd at the E.R. because I was in so much pain I thought something was wrong with the pregnancy. Everything is ok now and we got to bed around 130am on Christmas Eve. I was iced in at the in-laws on the 25th and 26th with no change in clothes. We finally got home last night around 1030pm. It was so nice to be home and sleep in my own bed and take a bath in my own bathtub! Lil Kevin slept on the sofa and was sick all night but this morning he was feeling much better.

Maybe next year we'll do Christmas at our house :-)

I think I'm stuck!

I'm in Baxter and was planning on leaving for North Liberty so that I can work tomorrow and pack more clothes for the weekend. The freezing rain moved in and I'm too scared to try to drive back. Now I'm stuck here with no change in clothes! Other than that Christmas was very nice. Poor Drake is sick. He's been throwing up since this afternoon. Others in the house have the same thing. I hope I don't get it! Our car is acting up. I guess oil is leaking.

Birthday Madness

The boys had their birthday celebration over the weekend with their friends. Thank goodness I decided to rent out a room at the NL Rec center because there were almost 30 kids there. It went really well and I think they all had a lot of fun. The boys got so many presents it was crazy!! We had pizza, cake and pop. Kevin planned balloon games and they went over really well. Kevin baked the cakes which were sponge bob and a football, he decorated them and baked all the pizza's and just did the majority of the work for it. He did an awesome job! (When I say Kevin I mean the bigger one :-) )Once I figure out how to move pictures from my phone to a computer then I'll post the pics from the party on here.

16 Weeks

I just had my 16 week appointment and all is going well. I did the alpha-fetoprotein blood test today and got to listen to the baby's heartbeat. The doctor said it sounds healthy. I haven't gained any weight yet which is normal since I'm a tad bit overweight! :-) I can feel that my uterus is a large, hard ball that goes all the way up to my belly button. I'm not in maternity clothing yet but I'm sure it won't be too much longer.

My next appointment is set for January 5th. That's when we have the ultrasound and find out if it's a boy or girl. Kevin and I are going to take the boys with us so they can experience it as well. We are all excited.

Busy Weekend

This weekend we went to my work's holiday party and also one for our faith family. We had a lot of fun at both of them. You can't really go wrong with good friends and good food.

Kids and work don't mix

So my great idea of having the kids come to work with me didn't exactly pan out like I thought it would. Kevin was perfect for the most part but Drake put effort into being difficult. He refused to eat any of the food I offered to him and instead ate oreo's, suckers and candy. He crawled on his knees back and forth through the lobby and yelled at me while I was on the phone with a member that was out of the country. It wasn't too long before my boss asked me if I would like to use my flex time and take the afternoon off and I accepted the offer. By the time Kevin got off work I took a hot bath and went to bed! :-)

COLD!!

Everything is covered in ice today and school was cancelled. The boys are at work with me and so far they are being very good. They are watching a movie in the boardroom. Some of my co-workers couldn't make it in today. Lunch is being catered in! Yay!

Halloween

I know this is a little late but Drake wanted to be a vampire duck again this Halloween. I just think it's hilarious and wanted to share the pics.

Busy Weekend

This weekend we took the boys to the UICCU Holiday party for kids. They had fun playing in at the Coralville Rec center and talking with Santa.

Kevin and I went to his work's holiday party at Ms. Susan's. It's always interesting since there's a white elephant gift exchange. We got a picnic basket with a bottle of wine but that didn't last too long before someone took it from us. We ended up with some O'douls and Busch light along with a 70's lamp!! We gave away the beer and talked the other person into giving us the picnic basket back without the wine. So it turned out ok. :-)

The Baby

I'm 14 weeks along this week. I was able to hear the baby's heartbeat last week. It was 153bpm. In January we find out the sex. I can't wait to be able to start buying cute baby clothes!

The House

We started working on the house last week. It's fantastic. We painted the downstairs and covered up the planets that were on the wall from the previous owner. It was such a relief to see them go. Kevin and I moved the furniture into the garage and tore the carpet and padding out. Boy did that need to go! We are now looking into purchasing some carpet and padding and Kevin's going to be installing it. After we have that finished we can move our bedroom to the downstairs and continue working on the other rooms.
