Giggling Baby

Last night I kissed Jazzlyn's neck and nuzzled my nose into it and she giggled. So I started playing with her and telling her I was going to get her and then kissed her neck again. She giggled again! It was the very first time she's ever giggled over kisses. It was fun to play with her and have interaction that way.

She still wakes up a couple of times at night to eat. I can't get myself to move her over to her bassinette. It makes me sad to think she's old enough to not need to snuggle with mama anymore.

She likes to sit up now and is ready for a little walker type of toy that the baby's sit in and play with the toys that are attached to it. I'm going to be getting one from my sister soon. She's very much aware of her surroundings and want to investigate anything that's in front of her. Especially if it's brightly colored.

Daycare

Jazz is doing great at daycare. The ladies that work there are very nice and have done what they can to try to make me feel more comfortable with leaving her there. Kevin and I see her on our lunch break most days. She's drinking from a bottle just fine for them which is s huge relief for us. We're thrilled that everything is going smoothly.

Update on the kids

Time is flying by isn't it!?

Lil Kevin has started gymnastics and after his first class they moved him up one skill level from beginner to intermediate. He's gone 3 times now and looks forward to it every day. He's having a wonderful time and it's great to see him come out of his shell.

Drake started flag football 2 weeks ago and his first game was last week. They won!!!

Jazz is now grabbing anything that you put in front of her. She is also rolling from her tummy to her back AND from her back to her tummy.

School Started

The boys were super excited to start school on Thursday. Kevin wanted to leave an hour early adn today he tried to leave 30 minutes early. He says to me, "everyone likes me. They say I'm popular." Oh My!! It's already started hasn't it?!

Drake said he got scolded already. That's not really a surprise. I guess he was wearing his lunch box on his head.

Kevin had homework to do already but it was a fun little project of filling up a paper sack with things that represent his interests.

Drake's car wouldn't spin, so he would be upside down during half the ride.

Garage sale we put on to raise money for a local family's medical bills.

Drake sat 6hrs in the chair to get this tattoo...didnt cry a bit.

My buddy Russell. He's the guy who always finished just behind Michael Phelps, so nobody recognizes him as a 5 time Olympic silver medalist.
Tim's son Alex came and visited for a week. We had to fix his hair so he was "cool" like Drake.

My lab threw a baby shower for us :)

Paige visited for a few days and became my Guitar Hero partner.

Jazz is a big girl :)

Last week Jazz had a 2 mo follow-up. She is roughly in the 95% for height and weight. That will help balance Drake who is roughly in the 1% :) I'm off this week with the kids, saving $ on daycare.

Jazzlyn and Bottles

Jazzlyn does not like eating from bottles so it's been hard on those who are watching her. I worry about her being hungry and sad while I'm not around. I've tried at least 4 types of bottles and she will only drink from one of them and even then it's only an ounce or two before she stops and cries until she either falls asleep or I'm able to breastfeed her. It's really sad!

Back to work

So I've been back at work since Wednesday. It's gone pretty smoothly. It's actually kind of nice to be back to a normal schedule of eating and bathing. :-) I miss Jazzlyn so much but I do get to see her on my lunch break and breastfeed her and then I run home right after work and hold her all night.

She weighs 12 pounds now and makes eye contact and keeps it for a long time. She also is smiling and sometimes she giggles. Her favorite thing to do is stare at the ceiling fan in our bedroom. She'll wake up and smile at it which is hilarious to see. It's like she's saying, "hello old friend."

My birthday is tomorrow and this is the first year that it just feels like another day of the week. I think it's because I have Jazz now and she's way more exciting than a birthday celebration.

The boys love their little sister. They ask to hold her all the time and give her lots of hugs and kisses. They like watching all the funny faces she makes. Kevin is especially loving to his little sister. I feel bad that they are so far apart in ages. She'll only be 8 years old when he's off to college.
